Content Support Sequence

Supporting content, which is not intended to be used in practice, that is included and sequenced next to content that will be used in practice. Supporting content deepens the learner's understanding of content that will be used in practice by the learner.

Example

An elementary school math curriculum teaches objectives of how to add and subtract base-10 numbers, using place value. After students learn these objectives, they will need to use them in practice throughout the school year. The module also challenges learners how to add and subtract binary numbers, using place value. While the expectation is that learners will not apply these objectives in practice, these objectives deepens the learner's understanding of how adding/subtracting numbers in base-10.
